In Bed

Where do you sleep? How do you sleep? It occurs to me that sleeping furniture and location is a kind of life choice for those of us with the wandering spirit.

Beds can be the scene of dramatic action too. As was the case when she asked “Do you have a saw? A power saw would be best, but a hacksaw would probably work.” However I am getting ahead of myself here…

Glamping

Some people, I’ve been told, enjoy sleeping directly on the Earth. I believe this is called camping. My very indirect experience with this approach included staff in golf carts transporting our luggage to the pre-pitched tents. I’ve been told this level of participation disqualifies me from further comment on this type of sleeping. Nonetheless, below is a photo of my daughter in our “outdoor bedroom” in Moab, Utah. I thought the dresser was a nice touch too.

Go West

In my travels, I often enjoy the bed-as-theme in the various rentals I select. A recent example of this was when a friend and I stayed in a log cabin in Southern Utah. Not only did the enormous bed in the master bedroom seem to complete the Western theme, but also the additional 4 beds in various rooms in the ‘cabin’ reminded us of the needs of those of the predominant religion in this area while on vacation.
