I live in Minneapolis and this article is inaccurate. The majority of people here do NOT want to defund the police (StarTribune reader poll). We now are suffering from unprecedented levels of crime all over the city because of the irresponsible calls to 'defund the police'. The city council voted to authorize 500k for 2020 in emergency additional police funding. They also voted to maintain the number of officers in 2021 (after intense pressure from citizens).
